FOOD TO EAT, AVOID WHEN BATTLING STOMACH ULCER

Stomach ulcer are open store found on the stomach lining which occur when acids from digested food damage the stomach walls.

Stomach ulcer can also be called gastric or peptic ulcer this disease affect both young and old people as well as males/females.

A good diet for an ulcer patients is one which promotes the healing of the ulcer wound as well as medication that helps soothe the pain. To better manage the disease, patients with stomach ulcer are usually placed on a not-so-strict but careful diet. A no-brainer is for patio avoid foods that triggered their ulcer pains as well ass food containing high amount of acids.

Unfortunately, some patients with stomach ulcer fail to follow recommended diets or meal plans, and the consequences of this could result on the worsening of their condition over times.

SOME OF THE FOOD PATIENTS WITH STOMACH ULCER SHOULD INCLUDE IN THEIR DIET OR MEAL ARE :

  1. FRUITS AND VEGETABLES

A good thing to start with, is point out some fruit that are not necessary for patients with stomach ulcer such as limes, plums, grapes, grapefruits, and blueberries all of this contain high amount of acid.

Fruit like apples, berries, oranges, watermelon contain fiber and antioxidants which are good for the body, on the other hands, vegetables like broccoli, leafy vegetables, and red vegetables are also packed full of antioxidants and vitamins, such as vitamins A, B, and C, infact some vegetables are healing agents perfect for an patients with stomach ulcer.

Vitamins A- rich vegetables like potatoes are excellent for the diet of patients with stomach ulcer. This is because these food help increase mucus production in our gastrointestinal tract.

(NOTE) also avoid too much of pepper in our food because it’s want triggered ulcer.

2. FIBRE – RICH FOOD

Food like nuts and oaths are highly rich in fibre and just as we’ve established in the preceding paragraph, fibres are great for patients with ulcer.

Not only are these food good for patients with stomach ulcer but they also helps prevent the development as well as bloating off ulcers. Fibre – rich food sound like action figures combating ulcers right? Well, they are able to do this by lowering the amount of acid in the stomach.

3. PROTEINS

Food like eggs, fish, peas are excellent example of low -fat- protein, fish like sardine, and salmon very rich in omega 3 fats are super good food this will also be added to an patients with stomach ulcer to consumed.

4. HERBS

Herbs like ginger and garlic are super rich sources of antioxidants, you may have notice that antioxidants is a common component in the food recommended by patients with stomach ulcer.

Some herbs are anti – inflammatory which are not only beneficial in healing the patients with stomach ulcer but help them prevent more drastic disease.
